Opposed.
Reasonable position, that.
Brought to you by Chuck DeVore and the letter ‘B’:
Awesome. Great closing line. I don’t think it’s necessary here at Acticons to go over the ways in which Senator Boxer was just a pompous snob, nor to point out the fact that the General, who no doubt worked hard to get where he is, is called sir by his subordinates, just as female officers in the military are called ma’am. There’s no reason to point that out. Not when you could be out donating to DeVore’s campaign.
We good? Good. Now go add your tweets to the #Boxertude hashtag, you speck of a peon in Babs’ shadow!
Update: Moe Lane points out two very interesting facts involving eye-patches and wet mice sacks.
Some say hip-hop is dead, for a variety of reasons including the “Michael Moore-ification of political rap.” But according to AllHipHop.com, not all hip-hop is politically shallow:
Iranian-based sources with AllHipHop.com have revealed that many of the protest riots over the controversial reelection of have been partly organized by Hip-Hop artists.
“Hip-Hoppers -the new breed of Iranian musicians – are the ones who are doing a lot of the organizing of protests,” said a source that requested anonymity.
The source stated that rappers have responded to governmental moves through their music.
It’s a natural fit. Hip-hop often gives voice to rage, resistance, frustration … sometimes an outlet for raw emotion, other times for political speech. Hip-hop culture is a counter-culture, and this is as true in Iran as anywhere else in the world where hip-hop lives. The Iranian government has more than once tried to crack-down on hip-hop, citing obscenity among other excuses, but the underground scene continues to thrive.
The idea of the underground rap scene taking to Tehran streets to demand their votes and voices be heard is as stirring as it is, well, dope. If anyone out there has pics, video, audio, or more info on Iranian hip-hop artists at the protests, please feel free to contact me by email (activistprime at acticons), in the comments, or on Twitter.

How Obamacare Will Change Your Life
It’s all over but the slow walking and sad singing. The old U.S. health care system is about to receive the last rites from the high priest of hope and change. All that remains are a few arrangements relating to the funeral, which is tentatively scheduled for some time in August. And, if you are like many Americans, you’re thinking, “Good riddance.” You’ve been convinced that what was once the best medical delivery system in the world has become too inefficient and expensive to be worth saving. You look eagerly forward to the new and improved health care model promised by President Obama and his allies in Congress.
With a cameo by yours truly! Also featuring my good friends Moe Lane and Skye. Check it out here.

Has Chris Hansen ever been a guest on Dave’s show? Just askin.
Fresh from calling Sarah Palin a slut and joking about her 14-year old daughter being raped and impregnated in front of a bemused stadium, David Letterman thought it would be hilarious to follow up by calling Willow Palin a prostitute:
Letterman’s pursuit of Palin and her daughters has been as relentless as it has been creepy. Of course, it’s also perfectly logical.

Monday, June 8th was the day Pvt. William Long was to ship out for his first duty station in Korea. Instead his journey ended at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, there buried with full military honors. He was 23 years old. He was a son and brother. He was a soldier.
Last week, Pvt. Long was killed in the line of duty, in service to his country. Outside the recruiting station where he was serving temporary duty in the Hometown Recruiter’s Assistance Program, Long and Pvt. Quinton I. Ezeagwula were attacked in a craven act of terrorism. Long is the first military member killed by Islamic terror on our shores since September 11th.
Pvt. Long’s funeral was held at Harlan Park Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas. The service was private, attended by 200 or so family, friends, and fellow military members and veterans. Outside the church the Patriot Guard Riders lined the streets with motorcyles and flags, acting as a barrier between the service and would-be protesters. Gov. Mike Beebe and Rep. Vic Snyder were in attendance. Flags across the state were at half-mast.
Pvt. Long’s brother, Pfc. Triston Long, placed his unit’s insignia in the casket. “My brother taught me valuable lessons and made me the man I am today,” he said. “My commander said, ‘Make your brother one of us.’ I will miss my brother with all that I am, and I serve in honor of him.”
The family’s military tradition and dedication to service were praised by Long’s pastor, John Harrington. “No one is more military, no one is more patriotic than this family right here,” he said. “Military runs through their hearts and their blood.”
Daris Long, father and former Marine, stood behind his son’s casket wearing a red Marine Corps baseball cap and military medals on his chest and read aloud the letter he had planned to give his son on the day of his deployment. He spoke of duty, readiness, committment. “Your day only ends when you’ve done your duty,” he read with emotion. “You and your brother … are both heroes for having the moral courage to stand up when your country needs you most. You are in my hopes and my thoughts and my prayers. You are my son, you are my hero. I love you. Semper fidelis.”
Pvt. William Long did his duty. His day ends with honor. And we honor him.
From the time the Warren Commission report cited it for fostering the assassination of JFK up through the recent murder of an abortionist in Kansas, the left loves to writes about and decry what they refer to as a “climate of hate.”
Lately little more than code for “conservatives are talking,” the phrase “climate of hate” is ubiquitous, both in traditional media and on the left side of the internet. Each and every time a figure on the left is murdered, threatened, jostled on the subway, slips in the shower and gets a boo boo, or is just feeling a little blue, there is a blog and media blitz blaming Rush, Hannity, Coulter, and company for creating a “climate” of hate. Democrat blogging mothership DailyKos warns stridently and often of the murder and mayhem daily unleashed by the festering madness of conservative talk radio. Bill Maher, Keith Olbermann and Janeane Garofalo never miss the chance to sell the notion that rhetoric begets violence. The criticism of Obama paints a target on his back just as surely as Bill O’Reilly’s prolife position was directly responsible for the Kansas murder.
One can only conclude, therefore, that the left is trying to kill you.
